Tough criticism for Sierra Leone’s government in the growing tax row

Baillor Jalloh is in Sierra Leone where a tax row between government and traders along with various stakeholders has been growing.

The Sierra Leone government is currently under intense scrutiny and criticism by consumers and traders alike after a decrease in the tax threshold from 350 million Leones / $35 000 to the equivalent of 8,400 dollars.

We spoke to the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Traders Association, officials from the National Revenue Authority and the former President of the Sierra Leone Importers Association
